Sheep without a shepard

Shepardless sheep

Someone told me that those of us who live in the united states are like sheep and george w.bush is our shepard. Well, if that is the case, this sheep has chosen not to be part of this flock so I guess I am a sheep without a shepard and proud of it.

I will be the first to admit that I once thought he was the answer to some of the problems that afflected this country but the longer he is in office the more I realize he is not the answer. He may be the problem itself at this point.

He talks a good game about protecting us from the terrorists, yet if it had not been for the committee in the house to day rejecting a plan for company in dubai to take over the security of our ports. Now, suddenly they back out and and american company is going to take over and I am suspicious of that deal. Wondering if we will be any better off or safer. Personally I think Patty Murry's bill to have inspections of the cargoes in every port was more feasible than having a company just inspect them in our ports. But that is not going to happen so we have to hope the chimp and his buddies really are thinking of our best interest and protecting us.

Then there is the war which he seems to think we are going to win? Is it a winnable war? I think not and therefore I would like to see us starting to pull out but my guess is that is not going to happen either. Well, this is my first attempt at a polical blog and I hope I get better.

I try to stay out of the political blogging myself. Being a child of the 60's I have very little trust. I have also grown up in a household that is very politically minded (I am myself, It gets loud, my parents always permitted us to have discussions, and at times we yelled)

I agree that the statement that George W. Would be shepherding us is a farce. He hasn’t taken very good care of his flock. I didn’t vote for him and will vote Democrat next time. Yes, without knowing who is running. We have to have a change and soon. If they don’t see it in Washington they are blind.

I know that I was raised in an era that told us not to trust the government, I don’t and never will trust them. They lied, Bush has continued to try to take our focus off of the dying solders. It hasn’t worked. Those are our fiends, sons and daughters, and the faces that we know are loved. It’s very hard to turn our heads away from a war that won’t end any time soon.

So as you can tell this is why I try not to do the political thing. I just can’t shut up.

I don't think a lot of people support George Bush and his policies at this point. Hopefully, through diplomacy, we can start pulling some of our troops out of Iraq soon.

I'm with topcat! Call me a cynic cause I probably am but I don't think we've had a real leader in this country in a very long time -- sleazes and charlatans, yes but no leaders. And yes, Iraq smnacks of another VietNam -- a lost cause -- but since it is our children over there cutting funding could result in putting them in greater peril and as parent of a woman in our military, I can't support that -- not because she's there but because I know how I'd feel if she were. I would love to see a truly honorable man/woman, who believes in the Constitution and protects the ideals there in, run for the presidency. what I'm seeing right now is a dark farce on both sides. Bush last year referred to our Constitution as that "damned piece of paper" and I can't believe that there was no major uproar calling for his impeachment. I have no answers and I wish I did. I'm simply heartsick at what this country has become and at those we've chosen to bring us to this point.

Excellent blog, Dee!!! I'll be back to visit again!!!! Thank you for stopping at mine!
